University: The Theme Park of Sin

This blog exhibits "diary-honesty", and yet exhorts young people to acknowledge the mercy of God, and to stay on the righteous path. What you are about to read is the speech notes of a recent graduate in a brief presentation to young people.

Let me preface this article, by saying this, I cannot encapsulate everything I would like to say in this piece but I speak on the subject of University.

University is a Theme Park of sin. Everything you have ever struggled with, desired, or even partaken in that is not of God and detrimental to your spiritual life will be at your fingertips at University.
Sin is the most addictive entity in this world; you will never know what you have an appetite for, till you try it.

You Become Like What You Look At!

article-aTqb5bbrc2 Corinthians 3:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
In one beautiful sentence the Apostle captures the truth about how believers walk on a spiritual path of ever increasing glory as we gaze into the wonderful things of God. The exhortation to be transformed is one that recurs in the writings of Paul. Being conformed to the image of the Christ is the goal, looking more and more like him, or as the Apostle Peter put it, partaking of divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).
I sense that amidst the hubbub created by the preaching of the new gospel of the acquisition of earthly prosperity as opposed to storing treasures in heaven, contentment and having all things common (Acts 2:44, Acts 4:32), we have missed the warnings Christ, the Apostle John, the Apostle Paul, the Apostle Peter and Jude. (See the end of this article for these warnings).
